Don't Forget Your Keys! Guest Laura Gagnon

 

 

In reading Matthew 16:18-19 today, something stood out to me that I thought I would share.

 

Jesus was having a conversation with Peter, after Peter had the revelation that Jesus was the Christ, and declared that he was the Son of the Living God.

 

Jesus turned to Peter and said, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

 

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

 

Jesus was saying that He would build the church upon the same revelation that Peter had; Jesus was the Son of the Living God. But, then He went on to tell Peter that the gates of Hades, or Hell, would NOT prevail against the church. That’s us.

 

Jesus wanted Peter to understand that He was giving His disciples the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever they forbid on earth would be duly noted by heavenly administrators of justice and those statues would be carried out in the earthly realm.

 

Likewise, whatever they permitted on earth would also be loosed from heaven and the answers sent back to the earthly realm.

 

There is a similar scripture in Isaiah 22:20-23. “The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder: so he shall open, and no one shall shut. And he shall shut, and no one will open. I will fasten him as a peg in a secure place, and he will become a glorious throne to his father’s house.”

 

The steward had the key that gave him an audience with the king. This idea is affirmed again in Revelation 3:7. Jesus Christ, the holy one who is called Faithful and True, had the key of David because He was the rightful son of David (see Matthew 1:1). The ‘key’ holds the entrance into the door of the New Jerusalem as it’s called, or the kingdom of heaven. It was Jesus’ prerogative as the rightful owner of the keys to give them to whomever He wished, and He gave them to His disciples.

 

That is what He was trying to explain to Peter, and it’s what He keeps hoping WE will understand today. Friend, YOU HAVE THE KEYS TO HEAVEN. You have the keys to the church (that’s you!). YOU have the keys to lock the enemy out of your house. You have the keys to lock the gates and secure the doors to make sure that Satan’s plans are shut down. Get up and go get your keys!

 

The enemy has no rights unless we allow him to have them. Stop complaining, stop blaming others, and stop feeling helpless. The enemy doesn’t have the keys anymore, remember? You do! Simply remember that God has given you authority and use the keys He gave you! You have the authority to lock the door! You have the authority to forbid the thief, the oppressor and the murderer from taking from you and your family. You also have the authority to ask for angelic assistance to bring you the things you loose from heaven.

 

Another very interesting thing I took note of is found wedged between “The Offended Brother” in Matthew 18:15-17 and verses 19 & 20 that mention prayers of agreement. It’s tucked in between as if it is all part of the same conversation.

 

I asked the Lord, “Lord, was it part of the same conversation or something You said at another time?” “Why was it written in my Bible as if it was all part of the same dialogue? Are You trying to tell us that we even have authority on earth to bind up offenses and just forbid them from happening?” That intrigued me.

 

Perhaps we won’t know for sure until we just start forbidding offenses from occurring and loosing God’s grace, humility and understanding. Personally, I believe God will honor the prayer of faith. What if we all started praying that just as a little experiment?

 

Do you wonder what effect it could have? Start with where you have been given authority and influence: your family, your workplace, pray it over your church, neighborhood and increase your prayers into ever-widening targeted areas. Pray for no offenses in your city.

 

Bind up that spirit of misunderstanding, offense and anger. Loose the graciousness of God to touch the ears of those that hear. Ask Him to remove the filters off the ears of others that would cause them to hear something that wasn’t intended. Pray that people will hear without taking in offense. That will have a ripple effect that reaches far and wide.

 

One thing I do know is that Jesus was obviously reaffirming the concept of the transfer of authority to His disciples because He repeated what He said to Peter.  Vs. 18: “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” AUTHORITY TO RULE. The question is, are YOU using it?

 

It’s already done. Whatever problem or issue that is coming against you, your loved ones, or even in our cities or our nation...if it’s not permitted in heaven, then it should not be permitted on earth. If it is permitted in heaven, then it can be loosed as an answer to come and invade earth. In the kingdom of heaven, the answers have already been determined.

 

All we need to do is to call it out of heaven and tell the right thing to manifest in the earthly realm. By faith, we call those things we can’t see and tell them to exist. When our faith agrees with what has already been determined in heaven, God can then release the answer to our prayers.

 

In the mere twinkle of an eye, what didn’t exist before, suddenly just is. We say YES, Lord to Your will, Your plans and purposes coming forth. Let it be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen

I have a word from the Lord for YOU. 

God says this: "Call a Spade a Spade." 

If you need the meaning it is this - - "Call SIN - - Sin.  

Call a HABIT a habit, Call an ADDICTION an addiction." 

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, it is time to receive Him into your Life.  Confess your sins and ask Jesus into your life.

You do know that when a person accepts Jesus into their heart, the Bible says they ARE a NEW Creature and OLD things are past away and all is become NEW. 

Reminder we are NOT Sinners saved by Grace - -

Yes we WERE a sinner but now we are saved by Grace.

While there may be overcrowding in the jails and penitentiaries we have been assured that Hades has been enlarged to accommodate each and every one sent there.

In today’s world there are multitudes of people who are endeavoring to make sure they have earned the right to suffer eternally.

Among the many entertainers, we find those who make (or try to) cause us to laugh.

One can safely say that the greater part of them; are indeed going to Hades.

They constantly use vulgar language and deliberately use God’s name in vain even though God has declared that He will not hold them blameless for doing so. Exodus 20:7.

There are millions who bow down and worship those whose sexual orientation is contrary to God’s original intent because they make them laugh.

Comedians use God’s name as if it was a bad word and try to provoke people to laugh in the process. They value a laugh far above the name of God.

As they laugh their way to Hades they welcome everyone to join them in the use of God’s name in the same way.

In the legal sense being present with someone during the committal of a crime is the same as committing the crime itself.

The next time you feel the urge to listen to someone using the name of God just to be amused then get ready to laugh your way to Hades along with them.

Plan to walk away, or use the off button on your remote.  It is not funny and not worth a laugh.

I stand ninety eight percent against abortion. Not one hundred percent for there are cases where common sense should prevail.

It grieves my spirit to be forced to pay Planned Parenthood for what I consider to an act of brutality by people without conscience or compassion.

One has to go back to world war two to find women committing mass murder with such savagery. The Bitch of Buchenwald, Ilse Koch started a sisterhood of sadistic behavior which is carried on today under the guise of aiding research.

Let’s examine Ilse’s "Ends justifies the means."  She carefully selected Jews with tattoos to make her lampshades, book covers and gloves. The argument was she found a use for the skin and didn’t let it go to waste.  

Not only are the bestial abortionists enriching themselves through their vile murderous so called procedures but they have almost all of the Democratic party supporting them to the tune of a half billion dollars a year. The old media expression; “Murder Incorporated“ finds new meaning in the Congressional halls of infamy.  

Several members of Congress from California voted to continue this slaughter namely the two women senators and present minority house leader Nancy Pelosi.

Most of the Democrats in the house also voted against cutting off the half billion dollars free funds for the slaughter house.

This brings us one step closer to the "Soylent Green" Era. 

A HARD DAYS DAY a true story

 

 

If you can picture a family that they themselves wouldn't call poor (they had some pride) but the word "poorly" might fit the bill.

Then you would be envisioning the folks I am mentioning; five girls in the mix, three in their teens, and two under ten. These girls were far out in the country with no money except what very little they could talk their father out of and he didn't have much to start with.  

I suppose if they had been more industrious they could have come up with a way of making some money like sewing quilts or raising chickens to sell eggs but they didn't.

 

About the only instance they could earn any money was when cotton picking time came. This was something anyone could do even little kids like me who was around five years old.

As it always happens when it is time to pick cotton it is also the hottest time of the year, and if the humidity gets up very high it is almost like trying to breathe water.

You show up a little after daylight, and get your sack that you are going to drag throughout the day. It will get heavier and heavier until it gets full enough to weigh. You didn't want to turn in a half sack due to the extra time it takes for the weighing and book keeping.

So the drudgery went on, picking for a penny a pound. Since the ground was poor and didn't produce a good crop - - the picking was that much harder to get your hundred pounds you hoped for.

Soon the sun begins to bear down and the dust and sweat gets into every crevice where your clothing touched the skin and the chafing causes the skin to be irritated producing pain. The only hope for relief is when the skin numbs out to where the pain is tolerable.

 It is a long way by foot to the river and after a hard days work you settle for just washing up with a wash rag.

After some food, what is on your mind is the next days work and another dollar you will have to spend for dresses and shoes.

In society, there is a line drawn where the women above that line wore things like slips and underwear but our cotton pickers lived below that line and didn't often have money for those luxuries.

On this particular day it was as described as above and one of the girls doubled with pain. This excruciating pain was centered down on the right side and nothing would help ease it. It was several miles to the hospital and walking was out of the question.

 

There were one or two cars in the local area that ran part of the time and after three hours they were able to get some transportation. The ride itself was almost too much to bear for the dirt roads were filled with potholes and when ran over it would send a shot of pain throughout the whole body.

 

An hour later the search for a doctor began for he wasn't in his office and another hour was lost while the pain continued.  When the doctor examined the girl it was get her to the hospital now, both he and she raced to the operating room and he cut the burst appendix out. Though it was touch and go she recovered with a nasty scar as a reminder of the misfortunate happening.

 

What does a poor country farm family do when you have an unexpected bill for an operation and doctor bill presented to you?

 

You sell one of your milk cows and it will take a year to recover from this, but it is something you are forced to do because you pay your bills and you just do it.

 

As you think about the why of this situation and conclude "It was just a hard day’s day."

 

This is a true story about my Aunt Minnie Hazel.

 

Minimum Wage

I won't be able to afford the fast food restaurant

 

Soon to be: 15.00 dollars minimum wage an hour nationwide and workers unionized.

This will be phased in by increments so as to make it seem like it is a minor increase.  Of course this is only the beginning with additional increases spurred by each new union demand.  Reminds one of the old theory to only cut off the dog’s tail off an inch at a time so it won’t hurt so much.

$60.00 dollars an evening for babysitting seems reasonable for an evening out. Of course you could pay less and go to jail for breaking the law. Once this is on the books there will be no going back.

Fixed income retires will have to suck it up and learn to do without. They no longer will be able to hire someone to do the menial task they can’t do for themselves. The poor and homeless will not be able to survive on gathering cans and bottles to sustain themselves, and will be singing the number one song hit (Woe is me).

Every employed worker will have to have an increase in wages to cover the forty percent increase in minimum wage. As wages spiral, the government will be the biggest winners with more tax monies in the coffers.  

More great ideas are on the way like assisted suicide for all seniors needing medical care to solve the short coming in the social security/Medicare dilemma.

 

NOTHING

“Nothing:” A word that is impossible for even the most intellectual among us to comprehend. The dictionaries define it as relating to something.

No thing; not anything; naught: something that is nonexistent. In no respect or degree; not at all: Something that has no existence.

Our minds cannot think of nothing without relating it to something therefore we end up with the necessity of there being something.

Those who eliminate GOD from the issue of creation have to start with something and fail to explain from whence the something originated from.

This is an issue atheists must deal with in order to feign intelligence honesty or just ignore the whole subject.

On the other hand the Christian is satisfied with the knowledge that the ETERNAL GOD IS THE CREATOR

GOD is and was without a beginning or ending. The characterization of GOD being eternal is easily understood by looking at something without beginning or end such as a circle.

The true circle has no beginning or end. 

So also GOD HAS NO NEED FOR A BEGINNING OR ENDING.

Much of our civilization, both past and present are betting their eternity on something that came out of nothing without a Creator GOD.

The Holy Scriptures advise against this and foretell a divine judgment upon those who pursue this path.

The strong words; Galatians 6:7 Don't be misled--you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

Those who deceive themselves will face an angry GOD and pay a high price for their willful disobedience. 

Creation out of nothingness, or by our ETERNAL GOD.
